Race number three of the 2013 NASCAR Nationwide Series season is set to get underway Saturday from sin city at the 1.5-mile Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Jeff Green won the first ever Nationwide Series race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is the defending winner of this race.
All activity at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway was rained out on Friday so NASCAR decided to cancel Nationwide qualifying that was scheduled for Saturday and instead award teams some much-needed practice time on Saturday before the 300-mile race.
One practice session will be held Saturday morning for the Nationwide teams.
Saturday’s 40-car field is primarily set by 2012 Nationwide Series owner points. Brian Vickers will lead the field to the green flag with Trevor Bayne starting on the outside of the front row.
ESPN2 will come on-air at 4:00 pm/et with the green flag scheduled for 4:31 pm/et. Allen Bestwick, Dale Jarrett and Andy Petree will be in the booth along with Dave Burns, Jamie Little, Dr. Jerry Punch and Vince Welch monitoring pit-road.
PRN will have the call on radio.
